BAVARIA, the not-so-serious dress watch
Clear categories are increasingly merging and interpenetrating each other. Diversity is the defining trend of our time. The BAVARIA fully corresponds to this trend. The clear and tidy dial of the BAVARIA sits in an 8.5 mm flat case with striking baroque shaped horns, which have become the trademark of BWG watches.
The play with the baroque elements and the clear typography points to the Bavarian origin of the design. Just as Munich is traditional and progressive at the same time. It was not for nothing that this design was awarded the Good Design Award.
2 Designs 3 Colours
The dial of the Bavaria Sport with its more functionally designed dial represents the sportier touch of the Bavaria series. Here too, the designer Frank Giese plays with traditional elements that are used playfully. If you look closely, you can see a tiny diamond pattern printed in the large numbers, which is typical for Bavaria.
The BAVARIA series consists of a total of six watches. Both the BAVARIA and the BAVARIA sport design are available in Royal Bavarian Blue, Glacier White and Slate Black.
BAVARIA suits all situations
BAVARIA breaks the traditional categories, just as people today don't live one life but take on many roles at the same time. The BAVARIA is built like a sports watch. With 100 m water resistance and 2 mm thick sapphire crystal in a case made of 316l stainless steel, it can withstand a lot. The problem-free, robust Swiss Made quartz movement from Ronda plays its part in ensuring that the BAVARIA is completely problem-free in everyday life. Thanks to the quick-change system, the sports strap made of anti-allergic medical silicone, which is color-coordinated with the dial and developed specifically for all BWG watches, can be changed without tools for numerous straps made of textile, leather or metal.
The BAVARIA changes its character like no other watch by changing the strap. With the leather waistband straps it becomes an aviator-style watch, with the Milanese mesh it exudes coolness and the colored NATOs underline its playful character.
Surprising utility disguised as a dress watch
Small details such as the rehaut, which is designed as a tachymeter, the screw crown, which supports waterproofness and robustness, and the pressure-resistant yet flat case qualify the BAVARIA as a robust sports watch.
With this watch, however, the high functionality is taken for granted and the design itself is clearly in the foreground. Unexpectedly high functionality in the guise of a dress watch.
